EPR number in Germany: your LUCID packaging registration number
For packaging in Germany, the EPR registration number is the LUCID number issued through the ZSVR packaging register. Its format is DE followed by 13 digits. EPR means Extended Producer Responsibility; the number you need depends on the product category.
One category, one registration: start with packaging
A marketplace request for an “EPR number” is not enough to identify the right register. First check which category the request concerns. For packaging, use the LUCID registration number. Electrical equipment and batteries have separate registrations; a WEEE number is not a substitute for a packaging number.
Format example only: DE1234567890123 illustrates the LUCID format. It is not evidence that any particular company is registered, and it is not a number to copy into your seller account.
Where to find your EPR number in Germany
- Already registered? Sign in to your LUCID account and locate your registration number.
- No account access? Search the ZSVR public register of producers by company name. Compare the company details before using a result.
- Cannot find the entry? Check the company details and resolve access to any existing account before starting a new registration. Missing login details do not prove that the company is unregistered.
Once you have the number, use the LUCID number format check for the character pattern and the official public register to confirm the company entry. A valid format alone does not confirm registration.
How to get a packaging EPR number
Registration takes place in the official LUCID Packaging Register and is free of charge. The ZSVR registration guide sets out the information to prepare: company master data, packaging types, brand names and the required declarations. Registering is the producer's own responsibility.

What a LUCID number does not prove
A register entry is not the same as a system participation agreement. The ZSVR explains that its register excerpt does not show whether a company has concluded that agreement; it must be verified separately. Where packaging is subject to system participation, registration, system participation and packaging-volume reporting are separate steps.
